At first glance, I thought I was looking at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! Regardless, Hotel Madonna is indeed a magical place!

When you look at this absolute kingdom of a hotel from the outset, you wouldn’t categorize it in the same price point as a budget hotel in Australia. Yet, that’s exactly what Hotel Madonna pulls off with their rate, which is equivalent to just 60 USD a night! A bit of a drive from the central Almaty city (about an hour give or take), but since Kazakhstan’s taxi rates are just as unbelievably affordable as their hotel rates, you’ll be smiling the whole drive there!

A Royal Welcome

Hotel Madonna doesn’t just look like a castle on the outside, but on the inside too! The reception area is decorated with beautiful golden chandeliers and vintage glossy floors patterned with Arabian-esque designs. Such aesthetics are featured on every floor, and you’ll find colosseum-like pillars at every corner too (yes, it really is a hotel from another era!).

A Bedroom Fitting of a Palace!

Photos truly don’t do Hotel Madonna justice, because this bedroom was quite literally the size of a small house! As far as the height of the ceiling is concerned, it’s even bigger than a house! Royal aesthetics to the core, you’ll feel like you’re living at Buckingham’s Palace or a fictional palace bedroom from Aladdin or something. The facilities are quite abundant too, offering everything you need from television to Internet, room service, mini-bar, and even spa and massage services.

Extraordinary Snowy Mountains View

The view from the hotel room is absolutely spectacular. Beyond the Madonna restaurant building is a magnificent landscape of snow-peaked mountains vast as the eye can see! Seriously, Kazakhstan’s mountain peaks are no joke, measuring in at about twice the height of Japan’s iconic Mt. Fuji. Sipping on a nice hot cup of tea or coffee while staring out into the snowy mountains of south-east Almaty is one of my most treasured memories for sure!

…and a Golden Bathroom to Match!

You know you’re in for the royal treatment when the bathroom is covered in gold! While it may not be real gold, this is the kind of look you’d expect at the world’s most luxurious hotels like Dubai’s Burj Al-Arab, though I’d argue Hotel Madonna’s golden bathroom looks just as “real” and certainly delivers the royal touch! That’s just what this hotel is all about: royalty and luxurious vibes every step of the way. So if you’re keen for the most breathtaking stay in Kazakhstan at the lowest price, Hotel Madonna is for you!
